Nail Surgery Symposium

Directed by Dr. Thomas Knackstedt, the Nail Surgery Symposium is geared towards all nail surgeons, from beginner and intermediate to advanced levels. Participants will be instructed on:

  1. How to avulse the nail in several fashions (partial and complete)
  2. Perform multiple different nail procedures (including punch, shave, and longitudinal techniques)
  3. Optimize outcomes in Mohs surgery for squamous cell carcinoma - in the lab and at the bedside
  4. Treat nail melanoma with en bloc excision of all nail tissues or Mohs surgery

Approaches to patient assessment, including surgical planning, equipment/suture selection, and anatomical considerations to optimize outcomes will be covered. Anatomy, as it relates to safe surgical technique, will be stressed. Procedural videos will be encouraged by all presenters
