Position Statement:
I am honored to be nominated for the position of Board Director of the American College of Mohs Surgery. The ACMS plays the principal role in ensuring that dermatologic surgeons have the resources and support they need to provide the highest quality care for their patients. With 17 years of experience as a Mohs surgeon and educator I am eager to contribute my knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm to further enhance the organization's mission and objectives.
As an MSDO Fellowship Director and current chair of the ACMS Scientific Program Committee, I understand the pivotal role education plays in shaping the next generation of Mohs surgeons and firmly believe in the importance of continuous learning and sharing knowledge within our community. If selected as a Board Director, I would actively support initiatives that promote research, educational excellence, mentorship, and the dissemination of best practices with the goal of raising the standard of care in Mohs surgery and solidifying our position as leaders in dermatologic surgery and cutaneous oncology.
Advocacy and policy are critical in ensuring the growth and success of our specialty. Our colleagues in medical specialties, the lay public, policy makers and insurers must continue to recognize the complex and expert skin cancer care our fellowship training ensures. If selected as a board director I will serve to strongly support initiatives that promote the value of Mohs surgery and support our codes. By engaging with policymakers, healthcare organizations and the public, collectively we can continue to elevate awareness and solidify Mohs surgery as a gold standard in skin cancer treatment and cornerstone of dermatologic oncology.
If elected as a Board Director, I will also advocate for initiatives that foster and support a broad spectrum of backgrounds in our membership. A diverse and inclusive ACMS, and one that engages our young members is essential for reflecting the breadth and depth of our field and for maximizing the potential of our organization.
In conclusion, I humbly submit my candidacy for the position of Board Director for the American College of Mohs Surgery. My experience and ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of individuals make me well-prepared to contribute effectively to the organization’s growth and success. It would be my sincere honor to contribute my skills and expertise alongside fellow dedicated colleagues to advance the field of Mohs surgery and improve patient care. Thank you for your consideration.
