Submit a Video to the ACMS Video Library

Thank you for your interest in submitting a video to the ACMS Video Library. Before submitting a video, please review the guidelines below.

ACMS Video Library Submission Standards

  1. Videos should contain the ACMS title slide. Please email asjohnson@mohscollege.org to get the appropriate title slide for your submission and share your video's content area (see below) and title in your email.
  2. Reconstruction videos should be 5-10 minutes in length. Videos on other topics such as suturing or lab techniques may be shorter as appropriate per the topic.
  3. Videos should use Dr. Mariah Brown's how-to video standards available at the bottom of this page, including: shooting in portrait mode, keeping video in focus vs blurry, stabilizing the video to avoid seasickness, and removing background noise.
  4. Approximately 75 to 100% of the duration should be live action video, with 0 to 25% of the duration containing still shots or didactic slides.  
  5. A small amount of didactic content may be included. 
  6. Videos should contain 1-3 references for high yield manuscripts that should be included in writing either during or at the end of the video.
  7. Reconstruction videos should include the following elements: 
    1. Selection of defects
    2. Design of flap
    3. Plane of undermining
    4. Key sutures
    5. Avoiding pitfalls
  8. Videos with incorrect information or that do not meet the above criteria on initial submission will be rejected or requested for editing and resubmission.

Videos are reviewed during four review cycles throughout the year. Content submission deadlines are March 1, June 1, September 1, and December 1. All videos submitted prior to one of these deadlines will be reviewed before the next deadline.

  • O to T and O to L advancement flaps and their variations 
  • Helical rim advancement flap 
  • Rhombic flap
